Massive US Tanker Deployment Spotted Over Atlantic Likely Supporting Middle East Troop Movement

On the evening of Monday, June 16, 2025, observers across Europe and the North Atlantic witnessed an unprecedented movement of aerial refueling tankers operated by the United States Air Force and around 30 aircraft—comprising Boeing KC-135 Stratotankers and KC-46A Pegasus—departed from U.S. air bases in the United Kingdom, Spain, Poland, and Italy, flying in formation across the Atlantic.

What Are Tankers?
