On November 14th, 2024, Iberia became the first airline to operate transoceanic flights with the new Airbus A321XLR. The inaugural flight, performed by the aircraft registered as EC-OIL, departed Madrid-Barajas Airport (MAD) at 12:50 PM local time, heading to Boston, United States (BOS). The aircraft landed at 2:40 PM local time, demonstrating the long-haul capabilities of this advanced narrow-body jet.
