Japan's ANA Orders Two Boeing 777-8Fs And 20 Boeing 737 MAX

On Monday, July 11, the Japanese carrier, All Nippon Airways (ANA), and Boeing finalized an order for 30 Boeing 737 MAX 8s (20 confirmed with 10 options) and a new agreement to convert 2 orders of the 20 Boeing 777-9s with Boeing 777-8F freighter model as part of its effort to expand cargo operations.

The Boeing 737 MAXs will replace the older Boeing 737-800s on domestic routes. The 737 Maxs are expected to be delivered in mid-2025. ANA currently has 10 dedicated freighter aircraft: 4 - Boeing 767-300F, 4 - Boeing 767-300 (ERBCF), and two Boeing 777-200F.

"As the latest model in the Boeing 737 series, the Boeing 737 MAX family is equipped with next-generation engines with improved fuel efficiency, and its cutting-edge winglets (Advanced Technology Winglets) are expected to reduce fuel consumption by approximately 15 percent compared to the existing Boeing 737 NG model." commented the airline.
