German airline Condor chooses Airbus A330neo for long-haul fleet modernization

German airline Condor announced on July 28th has chosen the A330neo to renew its long-haul fleet with plans to introduce 16 aircraft to its fleet of Airbus' modern widebody aircraft. Condor will become the launch customer in Germany for the A330neo.

With the acquisition of the next-generation aircraft, the A330-900neo, the airline intends to modernize its fleet with a more economical and efficient fleet, providing excellent service to its passengers with the new long-haul Airbus A330-900neo.

Condor currently has a fleet of 13 - Boeing 767-300ERs, with an average age of 26 years.

The A330-900neo has a range of 6,650 nautical miles (12,300 km) and a capacity for 287 passengers. Condor CEO Ralf Teckentrup said: "We are proud to be the German launch customer for the A330neo. Thanks to the latest technology and maximum efficiency of the aircraft, we will be taking off with our new plane from Autumn 2022 with a fuel consumption of just 2.1 liters per passenger per 100 kilometers. With this value, we are the front-runner in Germany and, as the most popular leisure airline, we will consistently continue to interweave the themes of sustainability and holidays.”

The German carrier will also introduce a new business class and premium economy cabin and highlight a new in-flight entertainment and connectivity system.
